This division is placed under the supervision of Deputy Permanent Secretary I (Industry). There are 2 main sections in this division, namely the Development Budget Management Division, and the Industrial and Investment Division.
Function
- Domestic and International Trade
- Bumiputera Commercial and Industrial Community Development (MPPB)
- Pembangunan Pelaburan
- Industrial development includes Resource Based development on minerals, industrial crops, oil and gas
- Investment promotion
- BIMP EAGA
- Local investment and FDI
- Enterprise and Trade Development including SMI
- Industrial estate development
- Manufacturing-related support services including R&D for the industrial sector such as Procurement Centre, Operations Headquarters, R&D Centre and Logistics Centre
Customer Charter
- Respond to inquiries and provide information required by investors within three (3) working days
- Process applications for federal manufacturing licenses (FML) and Sabah Government Approval (SGA) within 30 working days
- Ensure that every industrial park under the responsibility of the KPP is developed following the established master plan
- Process all payments and issuance of Development Allocation Warrants within three (3) working days, subject to approval and complete and orderly supporting documents
- Process and certify all allocation applications from agencies under the KPP before submitting them to State and Federal Government authorities within 2 months
