The ministry is responsible for driving the development of the industrial sector and the entrepreneurial sector, as well as increasing the investment inflow rate in the state. To ensure that Sabah is on track to achieve the Prosperity Vision 2030, the Ministry always strives to promote investment opportunities in Sabah by facilitating and offering attractive incentives to investors and the industrial sector to start operations in the state. The Ministry is also actively assisting the entrepreneurship sector by organizing many high-impact entrepreneurship programs to produce more successful and competitive entrepreneurs.
Every investment realized in the state and every successfully guided entrepreneur towards success, brings great benefits to the people as it opens up many job opportunities and helps boost the economic growth of the state.

The industrial sector is one of the sectors that is emphasized in the Sabah Maju Jaya Development Plan 2021-2025 (SMJ). By setting a target of RM30 billion in state GDP contribution by 2040, this ministry has planned various initiatives that can attract investors, especially from abroad, to come and invest in the state. The field of entrepreneurship development is also not marginalized, in fact, many programs and incentives have been prepared to help boost the growth and progress of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) entrepreneurs in the state.
